Adrift

Story/Theme

You and your crew find yourself stranded in the middle of one of the most dangerous sectors of the universe. Defend yourself against alien ships laced with explosives and fighter ships with nothing to lose. With only your shields to save you, you must fight to survive the never ending hordes of alien scavengers seeking to strip your ship of its most valuable parts. How long can you last?

Instructions

Rotate your shield with either A/D or the Left/Right arrow keys.  Enemies that run into your shield will be destroyed as the explosion sends you flying. Projectiles will be reflected and can be used to your advantage by destroying other aliens.

How 'Adrift' Fits the "Only One" Theme

'Adrift' fits the theme as a ship that would typically consist of many functioning stations has been reduced to only its most essential system. Likewise, the player's one and only goal is to survive for as long as possible while being stranded in the middle of the universe. Future goals for the project would allow for players to choose between having Shields, Weapons(fire projectiles), or Engines(player movement), giving the player a choice of which single system they would choose to use to survive. This was the primary design we had in mind when making the game, however, we didn't quite have time to implement the other two systems in time.
